My Italian Travels

A Passport is something you will need to go to Italy and anywhere

else in Europe you may want to go. There is no set time it takes to get

a passport it could take from 3 weeks up to a couple months depending

on your circumstance but normally the process is pretty easy.

In the USA you can get the paperwork and apply for a passport at many

post offices and some even offer a photo service along with it. To see which

post office locations near you where you can apply for a passports go to this

post office site. After you get there, under find location you will see location

types click on the drop down menu and choose passport when the next screen

opens just type in your zip code and the site will show all the post offices close to

you where you can apply for a passport.

For other countries you should contact your state department for information on where and how to apply for a passport.

A Travel Visa is something many people don't think about when planning a vacation and fortunately all the places I have been to didn't require us to obtain a visa however many countries have a much different amount of time you can stay before you are required to get travel visa. The site I am linking you to will give you this information. It is important to at least check to see if the county you are going to requires a travel visa. It is more important to check if you are planning a cruise in the Mediterranean sea since most cruises have stops in many countries.

When this site was put together there wasn't a good place to find information about travel visa's or tourist visa's which ever you prefer to call them. Fortunately I found a new site which provides people from all over the world with what countries require travel visa's. It is very easy to use and takes no time at all to see which countries require a travel visa. Here is a link to their site.  http://www.projectvisa.com/
