Looking for a vacation filled with sightseeing and relaxing afterwards with a good meal then there is also plenty for you to do in Lombardy. With over 140 museums and galleries throughout the region there is a lot to choose from in terms of whether you want to see paintings, sculptures, archeology or any of the vast areas of interests on display in many of the museums.  On place that stands out that really isn't a museum is  the monastery of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan where you will find the famous Leonardo da Vinci mural of the last supper. While there is an abundance of museums in the region there isn't much in the way of Roman ruins around but the region has many medieval castles some of which are used as museums or art galleries and some that are sites to see on their own.

If you see a museum listed in a town you will be in and want more information do a search with the name of the museum and the town because so many towns have what they call a civic museum so the towns name is important.

If you are more of a winter sport vacationer there are more than 30 ski lodges in the region with many different lodge settings as well as ski slopes for beginners all the way up to expert level hills. If you are into cross country skiing there are more than enough places around the regular ski slopes for you to enjoy that type of skiing as well.

Don't think outdoor sports in the area is limited to physical activity because Lombardy also a formula One  grand prix race within its borders in 2015. The famous circuit in Monza  runs a formula one grand prix race on the weekend of September 6th for anyone who may be vacationing there at the time and always wanted to see a grand prix.

It would be great if I could provide information and a link for every city and every museum in each region but not many if any websites could really do that. With that in mind if you want information on any place you find interesting that you found here you could try wikipedia which has thousands of people from all over the world providing them with information. Also don't forget to come back to do your hotel search and booking once you have picked out the city you want to visit or just bookmark the links page.

Hopefully the information provided will help you to better decide where in Italy you may want to go and by using the Planning your Italian vacation page will make planning your Italian Vacation a breeze.
