Archaeological sightseeing and visiting museums aren't the only things to do near or in the cities because like all of Italy walking through any Italian city is like walking into the past. With many areas of the cities being well over 300 years old you could compare architecture from one street to another. Although most cities may be older doesn't mean there isn't a thriving retail business with nice shopping areas in all the cities as well as fine restaurants to go to for lunch and dinner.

As many towns in Italy use the same basic name for their museums for example, the municipal museum if you wanted specific information on a museum you would need to do a search including the name and town to get the exact information you are looking for.

It would be great if I could provide information and a link for every city and every museum in each region but not many if any websites could really do that. With that in mind if you want information on any place you find interesting that you found here you could try wikipedia which has thousands of people from all over the world providing them with information. Also don't forget to come back to do your hotel search and booking once you have picked out the city you want to visit or just bookmark the links page.

I hope the information in this article will help you decide which parts of Italy you may want to visit on your vacation and used in conjunction with the Planning your Italian vacation page will make planning your Vacation much easier.
