For the traditional sightseeing traveler Venice is one of the main cities to visit with its world famous canals and architecture. Some of the most popular sites in Venice are San Marco square, the Bell Tower of San Marco, the Doge's Palace and the Rialto Bridge which spans the grand canal.

There are quite a few museums in Venice as well ranging from renaissance art to modern art and just about everything in between. Because Venice is so popular there is a wide verity of hotel sizes and styles to stay in as well as many different types of guided tours to museums and sightseeing attractions.

There are also many other wonderful towns scattered though out the region with many nice museums, restaurants and shopping to offer visitors as well as a nice place to stay. Some of the smaller towns in Veneto,  like so many other regions have Roman ruins near them giving a good reason to get out from the larger cities and go into the countryside to see the ruins.

Besides sightseeing Veneto like so many of the other regions in Italy has many areas for outdoor activities like hiking, mountain biking as well as regular road biking.

I provided a list of as many museums as I could find and the name of the town they are either in or near for your convenience. However because so many towns have their own museum they call the civic or municipal museum if you want specific information on any of them you would need to type in a search which included the name of the town the museum is in so as to not get many listings with the same name but in different cities.

It would be great if I could provide information and a link for every city and every museum in each region but not many if any websites could really do that. With that in mind if you want information on any place you find interesting that you found here you could try wikipedia travel which has thousands of people from all over the world providing them with information. Also don't forget to come back to do your hotel search once you have picked out the city you want to visit or just bookmark the links page.

Hopefully the information provided will help you to better decide where in Italy you may want to go and by using the Planning your Italian vacation page will make planning your Italian Vacation a breeze.
