My Italian Travels

Erik,  I am listing everything from the northern most part of Sarasota county to the south. Siesta key is in Sarasota county and Lakewood ranch is in Manatee county   Also if you like Whole foods you may like the local Amish markets called Detwiler's everything they have comes from local farms and people around here love the place they have 3 locations one is close to Siesta key and one is close to Lakewood ranch so there is one close to you no matter where you buy. Also every Saturday in downtown Sarasota they have a farmers market that takes up about 3 or 4 city blocks.  Also just for your info Feld,  the company that promotes the supercrosses is about 30 minutes from my house in a town called Ellenton.

A few other things I did was put maps with each area showing where the restaurants I have been to are in relation to the major streets they are near. I also put a link to their web sites so you could look at the menu if you wanted and most of them show where they are located or has their address. Having a map shows you where the restaurants are in relation to where you may be  in the county, I couldn’t remember how to add names of the restaurants balloons I put on the maps since its been a while since I did this and as long as you have a good cell phone all you have to do to get there is say google if you have an android or siri navigate me to and name the restaurant closest to me and they will take you there.

Also there is a big difference between Siesta key and Lakewood ranch as far as atmosphere. Since Lakewood Ranch is fairly new most of the houses don't have many mature trees and have nice manicured lawns and is fairly open, where as Siesta key gives you a very tropical and beachy feeling and with all the trees and vegetation everywhere it feels like a jungle with houses in it.   Lastly I put together a short video giving you an idea of the area and where most things are.

A quick video for you.

For the most part just about anywhere people live in Sarasota county they just say they live in Sarasota not naming the small towns unless they live all the way down in Venice.
